Grant Eligibility

All Organizations applying to Impact100 Little Traverse Bay must be/have the following:

  • Must submit a Letter of Intent to apply
  • Tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Based in Emmet and Charlevoix counties
  • All funds must be used within the two counties
  • Be free of legal actions declared: including current or pending conflicts


Initiatives eligible to apply for the Impact100 Little Traverse Bay grant must:

  • Serve residents of and expend fully funds in any of the two counties listed above
  • Be a new program, capital project, expansion of an existing program or a new or expanded collaborative effort of several nonprofit organizations
  • Have a total project budget for the full Impact100 available grant
  • Expend funds within 36 months of the award date or notify Impact100 Little Traverse Bay of timeline changes
  • Designate one of the following focus areas: 1) Arts & Culture 2) Education 3) Environment, Recreation & Preservation 4) Family 5) Health & Wellness
  • Grant applicants must have a plan for sustainability
  • In possession of at least three full years (36 months) of independently prepared, audited, or reviewed financial statements or Form 990
  • Two or more nonprofits may collaborate on a transformative process and submit a joint application, but the lead applicant must satisfy the stated eligibility requirements
  • Grant recipient must submit periodic progress reports and work with Impact100 Little Traverse Bay chairs for the duration of the grant period


The following are deemed ineligible:

  • Grants to individuals or private foundations
  • Endowment funding
  • Interim or bridge funding
  • Operating deficits
  • Debt reduction
  • Partisan, legislative, political activity, or political in nature
  • Capital improvements or renovations to property for the grant project where the organization may be denied access to at some point in time
  • Is a project of an individual church, religious organization, or body of worship for its own benefit
  • Fund drives, annual appeals, or fundraising events
Impact100 Little Traverse Bay collectively funds transformational grants in the areas of Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Recreation & Preservation, Family, and Health & Wellness in the two county area including Emmet and Charlevoix counties.

The Five Focus Areas are:

  • Arts & Culture – Charitable initiatives that cultivate, develop, educate, and improve the cultural climate within those two counties.
  • Education – Charitable initiatives that further the ability to educate and improve education within those two counties.
  • Environment – Charitable initiatives that preserve, enhance, revitalize, or restore facilities and surroundings within those two counties.
  • Family – Charitable initiatives that strengthen and enhance the lives of children and families within those two counties.
  • Health & Wellness – Charitable initiatives that positively impact the mental or physical health and wellness of the people within those two counties.
